The Co-operative Bank renews support of The Hive, as part of its ongoing commitment to the UK’s co-operative businesses Editor’s Comment Welcome to the Q1 edition of Wealth & Finance International Magazine. As always, we endeavour to provide fund managers, institutional and private investors with the very latest industry news in the traditional and alternative investment spheres. The last year has magnified the importance of capitalising on opportunities whenever they arise. While the predominant theme of the last year has been change, the impact of the COVID-19 pandemic proved to be tumultuous and ever-shifting. Though significant challenges have been prevalent, it would be remiss to gloss over the unexpected opportunities that have arisen for many businesses in numerous markets. The core benefit of the wealth and finance industries is that, for the most part, the move to the digital ‘storefront’ and operations as already been underway before circumstance made it a necessity. From digital banking for client convenience to online investment management – services could continue on, even when physical establishments had to close their doors. That left an opportunity to focus attention, to strengthen digital infrastructure and services to best serve the needs of clients. If anything positive occurred from COVID, it was this. We’ll be focusing on the companies who have pivoted or enhanced their digital offerings over this year. So stay tuned! In the meantime, I hope you all stay safe and well. Have a wonderful few weeks ahead. Laura Brookes, Senior Editor
