We profile the firm and explore the services it provides in this area. Spell Capital was founded in 1988, and is one of the oldest private equity firms in Minnesota. The firm principals average 20+ years of leveraged buyout investing, and have successfully invested together for over 15 years. Since inception, Spell has successfully raised five private equity funds and one SBIC mezzanine fund and has expanded from just two employ- ees to a team of 20 professionals today. Spell Capital is currently in the process of investing Spell Capital Partners Fund V, which launched in September 2015 with a fundraising goal of $50.0 million.
