Kleber Bacili: At Sensedia we deliver API management, Microservices, Service Mesh and legacy integration tools to innovative enterprises worldwide, enabling them to integrate digital channels, leverage ecosystems and create modern multi-cloud/hybrid architectures in a governed, scalable and secure way. Our teams take a product-minded approach to building APIs, providing a framework for business and technical governance, and supporting clients with an events-driven platform, playbooks relevant to the customer journey and API-strategic consulting services. From a start-up that launched in 2007, we’re now a global player, providing integration solutions for more than 140 market-leading enterprise clients across a range of sectors. WF: Specifically, in the Fintech space, what solutions do you offer and how do you work to ensure that these are always at the cutting edge of new industry developments? KB: Connectivity and innovation should be the foundation of any business strategy and to support integration and help clients keep head of this ever- changing digital landscape we use a combination of APIs, Service Mesh and Event-Driven architecture. This ensures clients can address key issues such as: overcoming any architectural challenges, managing services’ connectivity and operating within a new ‘open’ environment. Our API Management Platform is the key enabler for any business with a scalable strategy. It offers security and agility, connects legacy systems, integrates digital channels and supports the growth of partner ecosystems. And we’re certainly at the cutting edge of new industry developments, just look at our client list and the digital journeys they’re following. We’ve always wanted to help clients streamline their application integration processes and speed up their digital initiatives. In order to help them maximise their potential, we encourage clients to consider whether they’re ready to become a Composable Enterprise - an organisation that adapts to the pace of change and delivers business outcomes. This is achieved by building and mixing purchased or developed application building blocks. Following the company’s award win, we spoke with Sensedia CEO, Kleber Bacili, to find out how the firm’s excelled in the incredibly competitive banking sphere. And greater modularity ensures customers can interact with their business via different delivery channels and touch points, using their preferred communication medium. We give clients comprehensive support; ranging from strategy sessions to help them understand why they need to invest in APIs and Microservices, to technical services, advising on best practice for API design and security. And this approach is paying dividends – over the past two years the amount of traffic using our API Management Platform has quadrupled. WF:What sets you apart from your competitors and peers and how do you use this differentiation to your advantage? KB: Sensedia is the only company in its sector to offer professional services and support clients with a customer success team. Our solutions are developed to manage flows, enabling users to create, display and manage APIs, Microservices and events, while ensuring governance, monitoring and security. A wide range of interceptors modify the flow of requests and allow users to take full control of access to back-end systems, and connectors to ERP and SAAS software, leverage the benefits of legacy and complex systems. WF:What are your plans for the future? What does the remainder of 2021 have in store? KB: Since launch Sensedia has been a bootstrapped company and so very efficient in capital. In 2018 we started our international expansion, first to other countries in Latin America and then to Europe. In recent years, as the digital transformation accelerated pace, we saw an opportunity to speed up our expansion plan. In May this year, we announced a US$21 million funding round, led by Riverwood Capital, to further extend our product roadmap and drive geographic expansion, enhancing our value offer to enterprises in the UK, Europe, Brazil, Latin America and globally. Sensedia is growing at an awesome pace. While we’re welcoming new enterprise clients, at the same time our current clients are moving forward in their digital journeys, particularly during 2020 when many physical experiences were replaced by digital interactions (and reflected by the amount of API traffic using our platform). Ultimately, our aim is to become one of the top API management players in the market, to continue to help our clients become more digital, connected and open, and enable them to thrive in the next chapter of their journeys.
