Though they work primarily within the healthcare markets, Seal Shield has moved onto new ground as required – to government institutions, education establishments and food service providers, to name just a few. To start, Bradley goes into details about the firm’s primary mission – to help save lives, and money; “Seal Shield’s mission is to prevent infections and save lives via technology and data management. The vision is for our brand to become synonymous with infection control through advanced research and development, strategic partnerships, and technology acquisitions. Ultimately, the infection control industry is an area of critical need. The rise of ‘Super Bugs’ insures the continual need for alternative solutions to combat hospital-acquired infections It is Seal Shield’s goal to become the leading provider of innovative infection control solutions, improving healthcare outcomes, and reducing the costs associated with hospital- acquired infections.” Bradley takes a moment to explain why they chose Orlando as the perfect place to grow the company, “Orlando, Florida was an ideal choice for our business. There is a large healthcare community focused on research and development. It is our goal to contribute to Orlando becoming a worldwide hub for infection prevention technology. In addition, the weather is great and there is no state income tax.” Naturally, Seal Shield operates in an industry where developments occur swiftly, and adoption and consideration of those developments are, simply, crucial to remaining relevant. Bradley believes that their customers remain an integral part of staying ahead of the curve, adapting to developments before they are integrated by their competitors; “We listen to our customers and consumers. For example, we have customer advisory boards where we ask not only for feedback on our current offerings, but we ask our user community the challenges that they are facing in the next few years and what products or services that they need to support their mission. Our groups are made of a mix of users, resellers and providers so we capture a full 360-degree view.” Another important element to Seal Shield’s enduring success is their approach to nurturing a healthy internal culture, “We are very proud of our Ownership Thinking culture; all employees have an ownership stake in the company through stock options and profit sharing. We have an exceptionally rich benefits plan which includes full coverage, zero-out-of-pocket healthcare insurance, and life insurance. The company offers a generous PTO and maternity plan in order to attract the best talent to the organisation.” “Every year, employees are given a 14 question Corporate Health Survey where they rate management and the employees’ understanding of Seal Shield is an infection prevention and control company based out of Orlando in Florida. In July, Wealth & Finance International Magazine named Seal Shield’s Chief Executive Officer, Bradley Whitchurch, among the winners of the CEO Top 50 Awards programme. Driving Innovative Solutions in the Healthcare Industry 1808WF10 the short term and long term strategic plans. The second step of the survey is that all employees provide feedback on how the organisation can improve in each of the survey areas. Annually, all employees participate in a Corporate Retreat on a luxury Caribbean cruise, where we invite guest speakers to present best practices to the organisation that we can implement to make ourselves better.” Using this refreshing approach, Bradley as an eye firmly on growing Seal Shield’s reach to international markets. Utilising a four-tiered approach, he hopes to tackle infection prevention and control on a global scale; “1) Seal Shield produces infection control keyboards in 30 different languages. We want to further our international distribution in order to strengthen our global position. 2) Grow our OEM division by using our core competencies of waterproof electronics and antimicrobial polymers, to assist other organisations with manufacturing products that support infection control. 3) Expand the development of the ElectroClave platform. The ElectroClave is a complete mobility management solution that uses UV light to sterilize devices and employs an RFiD tracking system to manage compliance. 4) Identify emerging technology and partnership opportunities to support a growth through acquisition strategy”. Finally, Bradley emphasises the role everyone plays in the spread of infection, and how easy it is to substantially reduce the risks, “Everyone can contribute to infection prevention. You can do your part by remembering to wash your hands thoroughly and often.”
